Since the legislature passed an amendment for property tax reform to go before the voters in January, almost everyday there is news from the County Budget Office.

Services will be cut, positions will be eliminated, no pay raises for government employees, etc.

Lets remember that last year the County Commission voted to increase the budget by an additional 10% (the maximum allowed by law). This even though the Real Estate Market was slowing down and property values were decreasing. They voted the increase knowing that they would not have as much revenue coming in.

The Brevard County Budget has increased by over 70% in the past few years and many Department Budgets have doubled.
