Today the Florida House voted unanimously to approve the special election in January. The vote was 117-0.

This will allow the voter's to decide on the new property tax bill in January which could potentially raise the homestead exemption as high as $195,000.

Though Democrats were opposed to the bill, they decided not to block the special election which would have forced voters to wait until November 2008 to make their voices heard.
