Circuit Judge Charles Francis' ruling that the property tax amendment should not be on the January ballot (see previous post) has been appealed.

Lawmakers have decided not to include it in this weeks special session which is to discuss budget issues. Gov. Crist has called for another special session towards the end of the month on property tax reform.

Now is the time to contact your representatives! The last special session on property tax reform was scheduled for 12 days but only lasted 3 days. It never went to the floor for discussion. The amendment that was put forth for the ballot was an agreement reached in meetings prior to the session. This is too important an issue not to hear other options. Portability without losing the cap is just one.
