Fred received a notice of non renewal from Insurance Company "A". The notice also advised Fred to contact his agent for a quote with Insurance Company "B". Fred met with his agent and was quoted almost double his previous premium using Insurance Company "B". I advised Fred to call another insurance broker for a quote. He was able to insure his property for the exact same coverage as before for basically the same premium as the year before. Fred saved over $600.

Check your policy to see what the replacement value is on your home. In many cases these values are inflated.
There are many discounts for "hardening" your home. A few examples are your roof, windows, garage door and hurricane shutters. You must ask for these discounts if applicable. Any work must be done by licensed contractors and you must supply proof.
